Emergency Management
The goal of the Grant County Emergency Management department is to identify the probable emergency situations that county residents may face, and develop & update plans to address these situations. The plans identify the resources needed to carry out the plans whether local or from a wider region. The department coordinates the Homeland Security grant process for the county, schedules training exercises of the emergency response plans, as well as first responder training. The Emergency Manager acts as liaison with the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management including updating contact information for all levels of government in Grant County and first responders.
Should a disaster occur the Emergency Manager is responsible to coordinate the response. Be smart, travel safe. Don't put your life or the lives of first responders in danger.
