The Auditor figures the tax levy and the taxes for all taxing entities within the county. This includes Towns, Townships, Schools, Water Districts and Road Districts. The Auditor generates the tax list and bills for the Treasurer to collect. The tax levy is based on the taxable value of the entity and the amount of tax dollars requested by each taxing entity. The apportioning of tax dollars to the various entities is done by the Auditor's office.
