911 was established as a nationwide number to call for law enforcement, fire and ambulance services. A 911 call should be made when you need immediate help for the protection of life or property. 911 should not be called for regular business!
911 calls for Grant County are answered by the Watertown dispatch center. The Grant County Sheriff operates a network of radio and pager systems, radio repeaters and sirens to allow both the Watertown dispatch center and Grant County’s Dispatcher/Jailers to stay in communication with and assist law enforcement, fire department and ambulance services in Grant County.
Since a majority of 911 calls are made from cell phones Grant County residents are encouraged to make sure their cell phones have a global positioning satellite(GPS) capability so the phone can be located if they call 911 and are unable to speak or do not know their location.
