Grant County
Visiting Neighbors
The Grant County Visiting Neighbor Program is dedicated to helping elderly and disabled residents remain independent and live in their own homes for as long as possible. Launched 38 years ago by Pearl Lundquist, the Visiting Neighbor Program has served as many as 63 clients in a year.
The program offers essential assistance with personal care, light housekeeping, and laundry, ensuring that clients receive the support they need to manage daily tasks. Service is available to all residents of Grant County, with care provided in towns including Stockholm, Revillo, Strandburg, Big Stone City, and Milbank. Assistance is available for long or short term care on a weekly, every other week or monthly basis, or as needed.
Program Funding
The program is primarily funded by donations from clients, family members, friends, and gifts or memorials from the public and service organizations. If donations and gifts are insufficient to cover service costs, the program is supplemented by funding from Grant County.
To donate, please make gifts payable to the Grant County Treasurer and note Visiting Neighbors in your memo line.
